Good News ! SKF Dalian Factory Won The Title Of China’s National “Green Factory” in 2023!

SKF is once again recognized on the road to decarbonization and net zero!

Recently, SKF (Dalian) Bearing and Precision Technology Products Co., Ltd. won the national "Green Factory" title issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China!

In November 2023, SKF won this honor with an excellent score of 97.50 points! Up to now, the success rate of national-level green factories is only 0.08%, which is very rare in the bearing industry.

"Green Factory" was initiated and recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. It is currently China's most credible and important award representing the green development and transformation of industrial enterprises.

The Dalian factory achieves a win-win situation for production and environmental protection by achieving "intensification of factory buildings, harmlessness of raw materials, clean production, recycling of waste, and low-carbon energy".

Climate change is undoubtedly the main environmental challenge facing humanity today. As an industry leader, SKF is well aware of its heavy responsibilities, takes "smart" and "clean" as its development direction, and strives to help China's manufacturing industry achieve green transformation.

In the context of SKF Group's strategy and China's dual-carbon goals, SKF China has been promoting zero-carbon manufacturing in various production bases across the country, and the creation of green factories has become one of the important projects to support zero-carbon manufacturing.

 

In recent years, SKF China has continued to fulfill its commitment to "comprehensively realize decarbonization of manufacturing emissions by 2030" and move forward firmly towards the goal of net-zero decarbonization. After these years of continuous efforts, for example:

By the end of 2023, the total installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic installed in various manufacturing units in China will exceed 27MWp, and the power generation will reach 27GWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 16,000 tons.

In addition to photovoltaics, each factory actively participates in market transactions in accordance with local renewable energy trading policies, with renewable energy use accounting for 45%.

Actively deploy energy and carbon systems to improve production and operation energy efficiency through comprehensive means such as process optimization and equipment efficiency improvement.

SKF has continuously increased investment in factory operations in recent years, actively introduced energy-saving measures, strengthened digital production, and promoted carbon reduction and zero-carbon processes. Taking SKF's Dalian factory as an example, it has passed ISO50001 certification for many years in a row and is a 5-star green supplier of wind power. In 2022, SKF China's first smart energy and carbon management system will be completed in the Dalian factory, giving full play to the huge synergistic effect of energy conservation and carbon reduction.
