On August 14, Dr. Zhang Yilin, CEO of Schaeffler China, and his delegation visited CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group, and the two sides signed a sustainable development goals agreement. The agreement is an important part of the strategic cooperation on sustainable development between the two sides. Schaeffler Group plans to achieve climate neutrality in the supply chain by 2040, and take the lead in achieving climate neutrality in the production field by 2030. The emissions of intermediates and raw materials in the supply chain will be reduced by at least 25%. Suppliers play an important role in achieving this goal. In 2024, the green steel project jointly developed by Schaeffler and CITIC Pacific made significant progress - through the application of recycled steel and electric furnace technology, while ensuring product quality, the carbon intensity of steel was reduced by more than 50%, which is a key step in helping Schaeffler Group to reduce carbon emissions in Scope 3.
